HTML site maps are the most reliable format and are spidered by every search engines' crawler.
They will also be the most likely for a human to use when they visit your site. One common pitfall of the HTML sitemap is to list all links on a single page when it drives the link count over 100. Google is perhaps the most restrictive of the 'Big 3' search engines and 'suggests' that you keep your links per page to minimum, then further clarifies this as 100 or less. MSN and Yahoo allow a few more, but not by much more than this.
The AutoMapIt automatic upload system allows you to keep the number of links per page below the Google maximum by producing multiple pages that are interlinked. The AutoMapIt sitemap itself is limited to 50 links per page which allow me room for navigation, ads, and additional links without going near the 100 link limit.
We also allow the option to use your meta descriptions as a short paragraph below each page link. This should help reinforce your website's theme or the overall keyword target throughout your entire website as well as offer human visitors the change to preview what each page is about.
